Account Executive
ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
This is a remote position, however, there is a requirement to currently reside in one of the following areas:
Chicago, Dallas, Little Rock, Oklahoma City, Tulsa
PURPOSE:
This position’s primary responsibility is to develop new managed services opportunities and close business for Ascend Active Accounts. This will be accomplished through strategic relationships with executives within Ascend’s Active Accounts, consultative selling focused on business outcomes, and effective execution toward gaining customer commitment. This role supports the long-term company strategic goals, builds key client relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates, closes business deals, and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop new service opportunities within assigned Active Accounts -
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key contacts at assigned accounts.
Develop, document, communicate, and execute an effective strategy to engage with the assigned Active Accounts.
Working with the Customer Service Management team, identify opportunities within assigned account list for new Ascend Managed Services offerings including Cloud & Infrastructure Management, Cybersecurity Management, Service Desk, and Salesforce.
Identify client business priorities, needs and pain points and discuss Ascend Managed Services offerings that will help client reach their goals.
Drive customer interest in Ascend Managed Services offerings.
Qualify the opportunities -
Accountable to determine if the client has a strong need and budget to justify working the opportunity.
Gain access to decision makers. Ensure you have client agreement that the need is a high priority and there is an associated timeline for the initiative.
Lead the Ascend team through the sales process -
Accountable for the development, documentation, communications, and execution of strategies for opportunities the Account Executive develops within the assigned accounts.
Lead Ascend resources (internal and partner) in support of opportunity pursuits.
Utilize effective consultative selling to focus on client business outcomes.
Lead the preparation and delivery of sales proposals, contracts, and other business development documents.
Close business and achieve targets -
Articulate differentiators and Ascend value.
Understand competition.
Set the stage early and often – explain the client journey and take them through it.
Be an effective negotiator.
Accountable to obtain client contract signature.
Meet and exceed quota.
Manage your business -
Ensure Salesforce has accurate data regarding your accounts and opportunities.
Active participant along with Customer Success Management team in client-facing regularly scheduled business reviews.
Effective use of Ascend resources.
Maintain knowledge on current technology trends and solutions relevant to Ascend and the overall all technology managed services industry.
Develop, document, communicate, and execute an effective strategy to engage with the assigned Active Accounts.

MINIMUM SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years successful managed services sales experience.
Bachelor's degree
Ability to confidently develop relationships with the highest-level decision makers in an organization.
Ability to sell in a consultative manner focusing on business outcomes.
Ability to work closely with Ascend teammates to strategize and develop opportunities.
Experience with premium, complex B2B services sales.
Exceptional communication, presentation, follow-up, negotiation, and closing skills. The position requires a strong emphasis on the ability to develop and follow through on sales and account plans.
Demonstrated leadership skills, initiative, and creativity with the ability to identify and convey successful sales/marketing approaches and techniques.
Personal computer and internet skills with a firm grasp of how to use Microsoft Office tools and Salesforce.
Occasional travel is required.

Starting Compensation: $85,000/year base plus commission
The salary for this position is commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications. The range is intended to reflect our commitment to attracting top talent, and the final offer will be based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's previous experience, expertise in the field, relevant certifications, and the specific requirements of the role. In addition, internal equity, market trends, and geographic location may also influence the final salary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to sit, stand, and bend for the duration of shift. The position is mainly sitting, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, (such as laptop or other equipment), and traveling to the work site to meet with client(s).
